Service Manuals
cover detailed repair procedures,
disassembly and reassembly, specifications, troubleshooting, and more.
Especially for owners of older motors, who inevitably must work on their motors
themselves, it always pays to own your own service manual. It is an
essential mechanic's tool. |

The Original Dealer Manual covers all Mercury Outboards 1965 and older.
It is the only comprehensive service manual available for motors of this era. We highly recommend a service manual to anyone working on their own engine.

can supply your choice of a Mercury Dealer Manual or an
Aftermarket Consumer Service Manual. |

How to choose which one? Both are similar in content, and
both will cover a range of engines. Our recommendation is that if you are
working at home, without access to a dealer's tools, you might be better served
by a Consumer Manual.

Our Consumer Service Manuals are printed by aftermarket companies,
normally Seloc or Clymer. The main advantage of these manuals is that they
are written for consumers rather than professional mechanics. Consumer
Manuals are not available for pre-1965 Mercs. |

Parts Lists are the only place you will find all part numbers for every part in your specific engine. They contain labeled blown-up diagrams of all of the components of your motor. Use the tables below to find part numbers for manuals for engines 1965 and older. (Engines newer than 1965, just supply model (or horsepower) & serial number when ordering your manuals!)

handbook of care and operation for a specific motor or group of motors. Part
numbers for owners manuals up to 1965 are found in the chart below. All owners
manuals are available at a cost of $21.45
